advocacy

Advocacy is empowerment. For women and children in crisis, it is the common thread that unites support and action. The advocates at Mercy Home are trained paraprofessionals who understand the dynamics of abusive relationships. They are supportive, non-judgmental and always ready to listen, 24 hours a day. Every year, our advocates provide emotional and technical support to hundreds of women and children as they struggle to break the cycle of violence and regain control of their lives.

Mercy Home oversees two major advocacy initiatives: crisis advocacy and legal advocacy. You do not need to be in shelter to receive these services. More information about these free and confidential programs is provided in the links at right.
