donations
The YWCA of Great Falls is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization supported largely through the generosity of our neighbors. Our 501(c)(3) status means that your contributions to the YWCA are completely tax-deductible.
The YWCA accepts donations of men's, women's and children's clothing for all seasons, as well as shoes, purses, belts, coats, jewelry and other household items. Unfortunately, due to a lack of storage space, we cannot accept donations of books, magazines or furniture unless we have a specific need. We also take used cell phones which we use for 911 phones or we recycle them.
By making a donation to the YWCA of Great Falls by cash, credit card or check, you can make a difference right now in the life of someone who has been affected by violence. Here are some examples of what your generosity can do:
- $50 covers the cost of transportation for approx. a week
- $100 buys two months' necessary art and craft supplies for our children's support group
- $200 provides one month of domestic violence and sexual assault support group for the community
- $250 provides training for the staff in order to effectively advocate for the residents of the Mercy Home
- $250 provides cleaning supplies for the shelter for approx. 2 month
- $300 pays for the property tax for a year
- $500 provides insurance for the shelter for approx. 1 month
- $1,000 covers the cost of food for the entire Mercy Home shelter for two months
- $1,000 covers the cost of utilities for the entire Mercy Home shelter for one month
- $1,700 covers the salary for the entire Mercy Home shelter for approx. one week
