luncheon lecture series

Starting this October, the YWCA is pleased to offer another season of its popular Luncheon Lecture Series. Each lecture focuses on a new topic, inspired by the changing seasons, and a delicious lunch will be served.

Tickets go on sale the end of September for the first luncheon. They will be $10 each and available at the YWCA or call 452-1315 to reserve a spot!

Friday, April 13, 2012 – “Spring Luncheon” – 12pm

Fish, Wildlife & Parks ranger, Wendy Kamm will be relating some interesting stories from her experiences as a female warden. Lunch will be a taco buffet with all the trimmings! RSVP by calling 452-1315.

Friday, October 14, 2011 – “Spooky Luncheon” – 12pm

Enjoy a gluten free lunch of 1/2 sandwich on homemade rice bread, salad, and a sampling of gluten free cookies prepared by Daisy's Deli! Crystal Cook from the Cyber Knife® will give an inspirational talk! Reserve your spot by October 13th.

Friday, November 11, 2011 – “Harvest Luncheon” – 12pm

The YWCA's 2010 Creative Arts and Communication winner Judy Pleskac will be entertaining you with tunes on our grand piano!What a way to start the holiday season! Lunch will be Rigatoni with sausage and peppers, green salad, french bread and dessert prepared by Penny's Gourmet To Go. RSVP by November 10th.

Friday, December 9, 2011 – “Advent Luncheon” – 12pm

Reverend Kama Hamilton Morton will be giving an inspirational message for the holidays. Join us for lunch prepared by The Daily Grind of Chicken Marsala, Mandarin Orange salad, and Pumpkin Cheesecake! Please RSVP by Dec.8th. Reserve your spot early, we sold out last year!

Friday, January 13, 2012 – “Winter Luncheon” – 12pm

Candace Hubbard, the minority advocate at the UGF and a 2005 Salute to Women honoree, will talk about her experiences. Lunch will be porcupine meatballs, mushroom gravy, rice, salad & dessert. RSVP by calling 452-1315, reservations required.

Friday, February 10, 2012 – “Irish Luncheon” – 12pm

Maria Winslow, a native of Ireland, will be our guest speaker presenting the Real Ireland. Lunch will be corned beef with cabbage, potatoes, roll and dessert. Reservations required 452-1315
