Advocacy
YWCA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities.
We’ve been at the forefront of the biggest issues of the day for 160 years: from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity and from violence prevention to health care reform. We carry on this long tradition of social action and advocacy to advance our mission — and you are a crucial part of this work. Your voice is critical as we advocate for policies that bring us closer to eliminating racism, empowering women, and ensuring peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
-

Women's Rights
We assert that women and girls deserve the same protections and opportunities as men, including freedom from violence and discrimination, access to education and employment, the right to own property, the right to vote, and equal pay.
-

Social Justice
We believe in the concept of a fair society where everyone has equal rights, opportunities, and treatment, regardless of their background. It involves the equitable distribution of wealth, resources, and privileges, while also ensuring everyone can achieve their full potential.
-

Racial Justice
We encourage the proactive promotion of policies, practices, attitudes, and actions that lead to equitable power, access, opportunities, treatment, impacts, and outcomes for all racial groups, dismantling systemic racism and white supremacy to achieve fairness and equity.
